Then there’s the woman with the mean supervisor who took a sick day and Ride ITL to apply for a new job at a paper company at the bottom of Pace Boulevard.

And the ancient couple who describe themselves of decades-long roommates: she is blind with eyes that seem to barely open. Did I alreay tell you this? (Not that you exist.) They live in what appears to be a vast, chaotically arranged trailer park on a forgotten industrial road across from a junk yard. Old trailers and recreational vehicles you can’t imagine will ever run again sit on a tree-studded sand-dirt lot. Dogs run around. Laundry hangs from pole-strung rope. There must be some stories in this place. The woman told me she finally, after seven years got approved for insurance coverage of the cateract surgery she’s been needing.

Now she can not be blind maybe. Now she can be not blind? Now she’ll be able to see? Amazing grace. Shouldn’t it be how sweet the sight? Or I once was deaf?

And good morning. Thank you for being.
